Starting LaoScript 8

To start LaoScript 8, open the Start - All Programs menu, and click on Lao Script for Windows 8 - LaoScript8 Application. However, by default, LaoScript 8 is started automatically when you log on, so will always be active unless you have closed it, or disabled the "AutoStart" option. (See Advanced User Settings)

Whenever LaoScript 8 is active, it displays an icon in the icon tray in the taskbar, as shown here. We recommend making this icon always visible for easier control of Lao keyboard mapping:

Windows 7 or Vista: display hidden icons, select Customize, and set the behavior for the LaoScript 8 icon to "Show icon and notifications".
Windows XP: if "Hide icons" has been selected, set the LaoScript 8 icon visibility to "Always show".

LaoScript 8 must be started before starting Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint in order to use Lao Add-In menu functions with those applications.
